PDT for Skin Professionals

Please note: This workshop is for highly trained and experienced IPL or laser Technicians only.

This is a 2 day advanced course for those with IPL or laser experience. It offers training in the use of 5ALA, a photosensitiser, for advanced treatments for skin rejuvenation, pigmented lesions, acne and many more conditions! Theory of the treatment process is followed by hands on training.  Day 2 focuses on marketing this treatment [and other clinic marketing], word of mouth marketing techniques, quality assurance, risk management, and staffing issues.  Only trainers and guest speakers who are experienced in their field and at the top of their profession are involved with this prestigious course.

Day 1

  • PhotoDynamic Therapy - What is it
  • 5 Aminolevulinic acid - it's tissue interactions 
  • Contra-indications/special precautions
  • Pre and Post treatment cautions and considerations
  • Informed consent and other pertinent paper work 
  • How PDT works for various skin dissorders
  • Expectations and outcomes
  • Clinical techniques and Incubation times
  • Treatment parameters and protocols
  • Post treatment considerations
  • Home care
  • Practical applications on models [usually each other on this day]
  • Expectations and outcomes

 

Day 2

  • Morning - More practical applications on models
  • Afternoon -
  • Clinic Marketing, PDT treatments in particular plus overall salon/clinic marketing  
  • Word of mouth marketing - an underated but very powerful technique
  • Quality assurance
  • Risk management
  • Personal salon/clinic scenarios
  • Questions and answers

 

Training notes, certificate of completion, morning and afternoon refreshments supplied [byo lunch].

Time: 10.00am to aprox 5pm day 1.  9am to aprox 5pm day 2.

Investment: $3500.00 inc GST per clinic/salon [max 2 staff] for group training at the Fleming Institute.  $5400.00 for personalised training on site at your salon/clinic
